This works with and without CRM. The option w/o CRM is extremely attractive for companies who want to start with an Internet presence. Many of these clients generally don't have good metrics for this new channel and don't really know how successful it will be. Therefore they are not able to calculate a good ROI and are not willing to spend a lot of money for it. Internet Sales w/o CRM can be implemented with a very small budget. Enowa has implemented this option a number of times. Standard functionality can be implemented for less than $50k. The beauty of it is that it does not require any changes in the back-end processes (sales orders will be processed in R/3 or ERP just like standard orders). There are a lot of web shop solutions out there. The real difference is that Internet Sales is an SAP product with a native interface to R/3 or ERP and CRM, supported by SAP and there is no software cost involved.
